She couldn't see the point of saving for retirement. Then this happened.
Sep 08, 2026
Okay so I have been sitting with something this week and I just have to share it with you.
Studies show that 52% to 64% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck right now. And the part that really gets me? It has nothing to do with how much they earn. A woman bringing home $120K a year is just as likely to feel financially stuck as someone earning $40K.
I know. Wild, right?
Because it is not an income problem. It is a system problem. More money comes in, life quietly expands to match it, and somehow there is still nothing left at the end of the month. And the financial industry? They love it that way. Your confusion is literally their business model.
So please hear me when I say this: if you have been feeling behind, or like you should have figured this out by now, that is not a you problem. That is what happens when nobody ever sat down with you and helped you build the right system.
Which actually brings me to something that happened in one of my coaching calls a couple of months into the program.
We were talking about retirement and one of my students in Halal Wealth Autopilot Academy said:
"Hamna, I know retirement is important. I have heard it my whole life. But I genuinely cannot connect the dots to why it matters to ME. What am I even building toward?"
Honestly? I loved her for saying it out loud because I know so many women feel exactly this way and never say it.
So we stopped. We did something I only do inside my paid program. We got really honest about where they are right now, their actual numbers, their actual picture, so they could finally see where they want to go.
And something clicked.
Here is what some of them shared after:

This is what I want you to really take in:
The million-dollar halal portfolio is not reserved for someone else. Not for the rich. Not for the ones who started at 22. It is for the woman who puts her hand out, trusts Allah and the process, and decides it is possible for her. From right where she is today.
And then THIS happened in our community this week and I am not going to lie, it made me a little emotional:
Growth-minded Muslimahs getting together over coffee, cake, and laptops, working on their financial goals side by side. This is what I always dreamed this community would look like. And here it is. Alhamdulilah. I am so proud of my students!
